It's been ages since Part One "Calvin Harris", well early June 2012, so it's high time for part two and who else better than Harley Streten, who? You ask.... It's the amazing Flume!
He is only 20 years old and super producer Flume got his first taste for producing at age 13 from the most unlikely of places - a music production program he found in a cereal box. Flume has done some killer remixes and his debut self titled album (along with part one's super producer Calvin Harris) was nominated for this Blog's album of the year. I have decided to announce the Australian album of the year on Monday 28 Jan 2013 (Aust Day Public Holiday) so tune on in to see if Flume had the goods to be numero uno.
His track "Holdin On'" was a massive smash in 2012 and his remix of Hermitude's "Hyperparadise" was just supreme. He also got loads of guests to appear on his debut including and not limited to Chet Faker, Moon Holiday and Jezzabell Doran. My favourite collob however was T-Shirt on the epic tune "On Top".
Amazing or what?
Australian music is looking in mighty fine shape with artists like this releasing such epic debuts and at such young ages. So 2013 will be a huge year for Flume and I can totally see this being a big release overseas (namely in the UK) so Goyte watch yo back mate. The album has also recently been certified gold which in the era of music piracy that's not half bad.
